Blunderbuss Approach

The end of the barrel flares out like it's a trumpet, ye, lik a tuba, like a tuba jasket. So essentially what it's doing is it's firing shot and and because of the flare of the barrel, it's inherently highly inaccurate. Think of it like this, rifle aimed, precise. Shotgun aimed, not so precise. Blunderbuss barely even qualifies under the category of aim.
