The Case of Ruth Finley

Ruth Finley and her husband Ed were found dead in their home on September 14th, 1981. Wichita Police Chief La Moneon set up a 24-hour surveillance of the couple to see if Ruth had mailed them any letters. A few days later an undercover police officer pulled up at the mailbox pretending to have car trouble so that no one else could use it. The postal inspector was able to open the mailbox and inside they find two letters from the poet. But too much time has passed between when Ruth dropped the mail off and when they were finally able to get it open.
