Getting Good at Ultrasound Guidance of an IV

You will never do enough central lines to get really, really good at this unless you're in some kind of unusual practice setting. It is a psychomotor tactile skill like shooting a basketball. You can't have someone, I don't know, hold your probe while you use a needle or vice versa. The way to practice, place IVs. That's the way to practice. For a lot of them, they are safe and they are hard. These are small targets. And then I trust and believe I can send you into any room and you can get any needle in just about anything.
