The care robots themselves required care. They had to be moved around, maintained, cleaned and booted up. The most likely scenario for a wide scale use of such robots would involve employing more people with fewer skills who would be paid as little as possible. Even though there are around 100 Chinese robotic startup companies specializing in companion and nursing robots, they're struggling to get a level of mass production that makes the end product cheap enough to buy.
