Sierra: One year or so into Simple Bet, we're talking to this European sports betting company. And we're trying to think of like what is the best way that we can deliver them real time sports betting market data? We kind of looked at Kafka early on and our CTO was like dead set on it's going to be Kafka. Sierra: If you start digging into Kafka, there's a number of choices for how you might ultimately deliver and serialize information. But kind of the default solution is this serialization format called Avro.
