Babylonia is seen as this kind of hive of promiscuity. In ancient Egypt, there really wasn't much of a problem in terms of women's bodies. By around about the second millennium BC, a fail of modesty descended across the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. The ancient Greeks were some of the worst offenders when it comes to this obsession with female respectability.
