There are a number of possible reasons why Sam SpF may have been able to get away with the fraud he committed. He could be motivated by power or influence, but also possibly out of desperation. The brazenness of lecturing Congress in the Senate on FTX's transparent practices is so gallingly hubristic that it would make ancient Greek poets blush. For even people who didn't particularly like Sam, there was virtually no one who would have whispered the idea as of two weeks ago that SPF was perpetrating massive financial fraud.
