I feel like a lot of first years come into college thinking that they're going to find a friend group. But I think what you realize once you grow older and also just age through the ranks of college is that popularity truly doesn't really matter. There's people who are popular in different social circles and since college is so huge and it's kind of like a choose your own adventure almost, there's no set popularity hierarchy that you have to follow like you do in high school.
