Is Capitalism a Threat to the Environment?
I'm worried that the underlying problems of human greed and capitalism itself are such that tinkering with the financial rules are not going to be enough. The current system of how we allocate capital is not producing the results we want at all. I actually do not think I am viscerally against capitalism, which means a market's ability to allocate capital to the right places needed. It's that our capitalism is not valuing the right things. If we had a capitalism that valued what the atmosphere of it destroying or the pristine tropical forest we are destroying to produce soybean in Brazil,. We need that capital.
