The Importance of Detail in Gospel Accounts

Each of the four gospels have an account that sounds really interestingly similar. It's just interesting that the different gospel writers are doing something different in each of their in each of the accounts that they give. Biblical authors sequence events and episodes to tell us stuff. They mash things together to sort of expand meaning. And it's inappropriate for us to fill in details in other accounts that those authors don't give us.
