Is There a Relationship Between Life and Soul?
In his philosophy, there's no inherent connection with being alive and having a rational soul. Your body is just doing its own thing and then you have a soul on top of that. And people interpret Descartes' dualism as all connected in some way to the religious tradition in the background, Christianity. But I want to point out here though that Christianity is a bit unclear about the relationship between life and soul.
