What's Disobedience?
Would it be a stretch to say sin is always wrapped in the realm of self? I believe so, alisa, i do. We literally distance ourselves from fellowshipping with god. This is why james says, near to god, he'll draw near to you. We draw first. By cleansing our hands of sin, by putting sin out away. And sin, yes, jesus paid the price for sin, but he didn't do that so that we could abound in sin and boast in his grace. He did it so that we would have the ability to walk free from disobedience.
