Is There a Conflict Between Science and Religion?

In principle, there can be no conflict between science and religion. This i just can never understand why this idea has a half life of more than like, 90 seconds among a smart people. In some circles, its popular to deny that religion does not make statements about reality. But most theologians have acted on the religious side because they recognize it as part of their own faith.
