I've never met a parent that didn't have it. The baby's not speaking clearly to us about what they are thinking or need or want, the inclination to project. It even comes down to simple things like, if I'm cool, does that mean the baby is cold? Or if I'm enjoying a gathering, but the baby might be getting overwhelmed and things like that. This underscores the value of seeing babies right from the stars as unique human beings.
