Do Not Conform to the Pattern of This World, but Be Informed by the Renewing of Your Mind?

There's a whole section of christian thought right now that's having these reactions. You can only, you can only engage in sympathy, but never ampathy. Just strikes me crazy. And yet, that section comes in the midst of romans 12 - which is a whole section about being informed instead of transformed.
