The Court of Appeal Concludes That Andrew Wilkinson's Trial Was Unfair Because of Disclosure Failures
Police were in possession of information which they should have disclosed to prosecutors. If they had, the prosecutors would have disclosed it to the defence - and this man may very well not have been convicted. In other words, his trial was unfair because of disclosure failures. That is appalling, isn't it? Not just for Andrew Wilkinson, but for everybody who wonders whether they can trust the greater Manchester police.
