How Does the Home Environment Influence Number Development?
Children who have the experiences of playing with quantities, or playing with shape and space, seem to do better in mathematics at a later stage. Being able to do lots of block play, for example, when you're two, seems to be able to predict how well you'll do with mathematics at a much later time. You've recent done some new research on children's ability to place numbers on a number line. So being able to take sa the numbers one to ten and put them in in order, spread out, presumably what ou're aiming for is equally equal distances there. But whyis being able to do that such a milestone? What do children sometimes do?
