New book makes a very clear case that what we believe was our social contract has degraded and deteriorated on multiple fronts. The distortions of shareholder capitalism, where companies used to care about something other than just thei share price. Shareholder capitalism is really what has taken most of america's workers and put them in such a position of weakness relative to where they were 30 year ago. A lot of what i write about is agricultural and rural America and what the effects of corporatisation have been there. It's really malignant. It is.
