We got suspicious of our institutions when it was pretty clear that some of them were kind of bad. But the best reformers, and again, I talked about this in a recent episode, never said we need to destroy institutions. And now we're in this burn it all down attitude where if an institution doesn't tell me what I want to hear, I'll go to another one. If an institution isn't doing what I want it to do, then it's evil and needs to be destroyed. You cannot sustain a civilization.
