Is Coon's Theory of the History of Science Rational?

Dillon: Is this reconstruction of history rational or not? And i think that he thinks that no scientist thinks that's the case. What we want is to feel like there was actually reason and progress, and it's not just random bumbling around. But yet, knowing that as a historian is not going to be useful to scientists. I'm not sure what philosophyo science is supposed to do, actually give direction to scientists. Dillon: It sounds like you're not disturbed by that, dillon, because you think that's not what Philosophical Inquiry is about.
