How Did You Become a Scientist?
I'm going to talk about the environment that you grew up in New York. Can you talk about your experiences in the particular neighborhood you were in and did that sort of inform your choices to pursue science? For example, did you have academic parents? Were they encouraging of that? So we lived in a working class neighborhood in Bayside, Queens on a street where there were individual houses.
