The Importance of Staying on Topic

Alex Jones is the host of "Smart" on CNN.com's Red Eye, which airs weeknights at 10 p.m. and 11 a.m. ET. In this episode he talks about his inability to do his job as a talk show host. He says that Alex can't cover one story because he can't stay on topic. And if he does, his entire charade falls apart. The only way Alex can mask his absolute ignorance and obliviousness about the stories he's reporting on is by distracting the audience with a hundred different disconnected information points - all part of same story.
