Is It Necessary to Parameterize the KDE?
Kde is a non-parametric. That's talking about parameters. So you don't need to parameterize the kde for it to do its thing, essentially. Now what does that mean? Exactly if I want to parameterize something or not. You can determine the bandwidth from the underlying data and then use that graph to figure out where something will be based on the kde. It's nice to have in kde no need to worry about optimizing those parameters that are required just to get a result out.
