Are We Thinking About Thinking?

Some of the most awful crimes against humanity have been committed by people very cleverly working out how best to harm other people. I thinki would in response to that, how are we thinking about thinking? Is that kind of sociopathic organization of evil the same kind of ampathetic thinking? is there a way to teach people to be more self reflective? And i don't have a firm answer on it. But actually, isn't that incredibly optimistic, and to some degree, naive about human psychology?
