In the fifties, this is mainly a european politicians who want to speak to chinese diplomats and discuss potential future scenarios. And then in the late 19 fifies, the whole thing becomes global. We have a lot more contacts with latin america and with africa. The reason for that is the sign of soviet split, which begins around 19 56. China tries to essentially become the new leading country in the eastern block. So it actively reaches out to european communists, but also to the newly independent countries in africa, and to various countries and overnments in latin America. They send a lot of delegations to those countries.
