If you're not going to pick a hotel because of the lamps they have, you don't really need a hotel that bad. The worst art I've seen some place, terrible decorating has been an Airbnb's. There are hotels where if you don't want to just be in the common area with everybody,. Depending on your stay, the room itself is not equipped to have a get-together in the room.
