"I was a real dorky kid. I used to go to the library on Saturday carrying a briefcase that my parents got me because they supported my dorkiness," he says. In junior high, "we had an opportunity to visit FBI field office and at the time they were kind of had to have a little bit of forensic science talking about crime." He adds: "This really did it for me because I was just like, what? You can use science to do stuff".
