Oates' Plaque No Longer Exists

Since the scheme began in 18 66, around a hundred planqs have been lost to demolition. The plaques don't actually provide any statuary protection. They are different from the listing system, which does do that. So while they are a badge, they indicate that something interesting happened somewhere but it doesn't prevent buildings being demolished.
