The History of the Colored Hockey League

The colored hockey league was a marker of the community's success in Nova Scotia, Canada. The games were out drawing white senior hockey teams at the time because of the environment they had set for the games. Some of the league's founders were influenced by Booker T Washington's black nationalism that focused on economic uplift and self-reliance. They fought to get there it wasn't a right bestowed upon them they fought to build their league he says.
