The Importance of Experience in Philosophy
There are definitely quasi-philosophical questions though I'm always attracted to rooting them in experience. When I first started reading Proust, when I was a teenager and I thought I didn't quite understand everything in it... But certain passages awoke me to the idea that you could have something that's very rooted in everyday experience. A good essay is remembering that the reader's mind is a slow and perplexing beast that needs to be coaxed. Our minds need to be seduced and entertained. An entertainment is a very serious business.
