The Wild Woman of the Basket Ogress

The dzun qua, the wild woman of the basket ogress, is a figure in the qaaka wak mythology. She appears as a naked, black as midnight, ugly monster woman with long, pendulous breasts. If she has shown with bright red pursed lips, she is said to give off the call ho. The thunder bird's a creature of power and strength, tat protects humans from evil spirits. Called the thunder bird because f the flapping of its powerful wings sounds like thunder, and lightning can shoot out of its eyes.
