Thessalonica and Heretics' Teaching on the Rapture

We don't know what Paul's opponents in Thessalonica were saying. They may have been saying that the day of the Lord is imminent, it's almost upon us. But there's nothing in the passage to suggest that they thought that the rapture was passed or that it had failed to take place.
