Chiangari and Mugabe's Presidential Election Results
Presidential election results are published, but it's too early to break open the champagne. A spree of violence erupts, unprecedented even in the bloody history of Zimbabwean politics. Chiangari is acknowledged to have won around 100,000 more votes than Mugabe. With Parliament split right down the middle, Mugabe and Chiangari come to terms.
