The United States' Response to Iran's Exogenous Threat to Shipping in the Persian Gulf

The United States is considering putting Marines on commercial ships, transiting there. The idea would be to ward off some kind of Iranian attack. There are a lot of legal and diplomatic hoops that the U.S. would have to jump through. This is still very much in the talking phase; it's indicative of where we see U.S.-Iranian relations right now.
