They tried to deescalate the situation by leaving him alone with their dog, but he started shooting at birds instead of fish. When Kandera confronted her husband about what had happened, she was forced to look at her dead husband's body before being shot herself. The couple eventually made it back to camp in time to get some food for dinner.
