The Importance of Learning the Language

Majid: "There wasn't a lot of work in Great Britain. My husband, Frank, he had a lot of trouble getting carpentry work" He and his family emigrated to the U.S., where Majid went to school for five years without knowing the language. She says she was homesick at first but grew to like it very much; her new life is better than what she would have had if she stayed in Britain.
