The United Nations released its annual report on global population trends and determined that by July, India's population will hit 1.42 billion people surpassing China for the first time in centuries. As Chinese birth rates continue to decline, by the start of the next century, India is projected to double China's population. The economies of both China and India rely heavily on manufacturing, which requires a huge workforce. But as their workforce begins to age and their population shrinks, India has stepped in to fill the void.
