The Importance of Penis Envy

Psychoanalyst Freud came up with the concept of penis envy. It's a psychoanalytic concept in which a female envies male characteristics or capabilities, especially the possession of a penis. What's that got to do with jealousy? It doesn't. But it is interesting. And I didn't understand why this was put into this either.
