What Are the Effects of Climate Change on Vector-Borne Diseases?
The parasite is already resistant to the main drug that's used and in a lot of countries, it's developing resistance to some of the secondary drugs as well. Climate change could very dramatically affect the malaria burden that we actually see in humans. One thing that I am super interested in is the possibility of transgenic mosquitoes. So there's a lot of really cool research that's being done on how to make these mosquitoes less permissive to infection.
