The 49ers acquired Jimmy Garoppolo for a second round pick in 2017. He went on to win five straight games and become the highest paid quarterback in NFL history. Kyle Shanahan was so impressed with Josh Allen that he wanted him as his starting quarterback next season. The team has been plagued by injuries since then, but they are still looking at ways to improve their roster.
