What Caused the Lonar Crater to Exist?
The extinction of the non avian dinocerus is believed to have been caused by a combination of two events. The first was an ancient volcanism in central india, which happened between 70 and 60 thousand 60 million years before today. And the other factor is the chikshulub impact event in yucatan,. which happened over here. When this lonar crater was discovered, initially it was believed that this crater was a consequence of that ancient volcanism. But later it was discovered that it actually shows the characteristics of an impact event.
