The Cost of Naming in APL

I imagine you have to do a lot of things like single letter or single character variable names, which are maybe symbols in some cases. And APL is incredibly compact compared to other languages. I would analogize this to Arabic arithmetic syntax x squared plus three x plus plus five equals zero. But so long as you have already built up the context in your head of what all those pieces mean, you understand how to manipulate those,. The actual manipulation becomes a lot easier versus trying to wade through this paragraph of text.
