The emphasis on discourse in language, to me, fits broadly with this phenomenon called ale capture that i've been thinking about. Does it also explain the emphasis on discourse and language? I think it does. There was another piece that i wrote on ali capture. In that one, i thought about te distinction between elites and the rest of their group,. whatever their group might be. And i thought, one thing that's typically true of elits of a group is that they have simpler social problems than the rest of that group.
