AIP wanted a black woman's revenge movie. Jack is white. He didn't know much about the black experience. Pam Greer said sure she'd help out with the writing, but she had one condition. She did not want to make a movie about a damsel in distress. They created a character named Flower Child Coffin and everyone called her coffee.
