There's a sense of like the crime has been, if not eradicated, at least a justified or made kind of like the the stain of it has been, has been, wiped up. Without actual a punishment, like from the law, then what ends of happening is people think, well, we need to punish that person. And this is the kind of intellectual poverty of thinking that way about media and our consumption of it. It basically allows the criminal to go unpunished for their crime.
