Should I Get an MRI for Lower Body Parkinsonism?

If a person has typical idiopathic Parkinson's disease and doesn't have any other abnormal exam findings, the likelihood is that the MRI is not going to be informative. You're really looking for two typical causes of lower body Parkinsonism. There's obviously there's no harm in getting an MRI. Everybody comes into the emergency room for anything they get an MRI. So I think somebody who's got Parkinsonian symptoms, it's reasonable to think about doing an MRI but there are some cases where it's going to be much more important than others.
