The 20th Corps Holds in Place

The 20th Corps was the hold in place while Meckensen and von Francois moved into the positions they would need to attack the flank of the entire 2nd Russian army. Scholz just didn't know it yet because Hindenburg Lündorf didn't tell him. The Russians simply stopped attacking his positions after they were forced back the first time. They simply changed the route of their advance, leaving their left flank even more open and giving more space to the Germans.
