The Miasma Theory and the Cancer Hospital
The main treatment for cancer at the time was surgery. Surgeries were happening in an amphitheater so that students could watch and learn. The architectural design of a hospital doesn't always correspond exactly to the medical theories of that time. Almost like society is hesitating to fully endorse the medical theory.
