Michael angelo's work is unparalleled in terms of especially his sculpture the sistine chap chapel. But as a character, he doesn't appeal to us as much because he was not a happy person. We give credit to leonardo cause he painted the last supper and the monalisa. But what were real ar really fascinated by him, is we're all part of that same creative spirit that informed leonardo. He just happened to be one of the clearest, purest, most multifacited antennae or transmitters for that universal creative genius. It's all around us, and we all can get access to it.
