Patients with PAPVC can develop progressive right-sided volume overload, right-sided ventricular enlargement, progressive increase in pulmonary arterial pressures. Other associated septal defects, such as a left-to-right shunt, and a potential for progressive right-to-left shunt down the line can result in presentation with isin-maker syndrome. At least half of the pulmonary vein's return has to be abnormal in order to see RV dilatations, a clinically significant shunt, or a cubic U.S. greater than about 1.5.
